Vetting Policy (CRB)________________________________

CRB - WHAT' IS IT ALL ABOUT?

CRB checks are a way of checking an individual's history to make sure they do not have any convictions that might mean they are not safe to work with children.

The FA only uses checks called Enhanced Disclosures which are currently renewable after three years.

These show conviction history (offences they have been found guilty of), other information that might be considered relevant (e.g. a person may have had their children placed on a Child Protection register for sexual abuse) and whether or not they are banned by the courts from working with children.

It is important to note that the FA are only interested in offences that maybe a child protection issue. The checks are not designed to stop everyone with a criminal conviction from being involved in the game.

CRB checks are not to be confused with Police checks which many clubs have undertaken on behalf of their members.
