16/2/2008:  Brentwood Sports  0 - 1  Chelmsford City

 

The game was played on a very cold Saturday morning on an uneven pitch, in the first half Chelmsford played down the slope with an assisting wind. The team created a succession of chances with Ellis Casey and Tyrese Fairmaner forcing good saves from the Brentwood goalkeeper. At the other end the defence led by Jacob Lodge and Archie McClelland limited the home team to a few crosses. The teams went in at half time scoreless despite further chances falling to Lewis Chapman which the home defence kept out.

The second half continued in much the same vein with Chelmsford forcing the game and they were only thwarted by the home goalkeeper stopping two runs on goal by James Barry and Oliver Rowe. The deadlock was finally broken with a well created goal as James Barry played in Tyrese Fairmaner who ran to the edge of the box before firing in an unstoppable shot from the diagonal.  The home team were restricted to crosses which the Chelmsford keeper Harry Gooch safely handled to give the boys their fifth successive clean sheet and extend their winning run to eight games.

 

9/2/2008:  Chelmsford City 3 - 0  Billericay Town

 

Chelmsford maintained there current good run with a hard earned win against a competitive Billericay team. The first half ended goalless which was due to a number of outstanding saves from the away team’s goalkeeper. On several occasions he thwarted goal bound shots from Tyrese and James, at the other end the Chelmsford defence led by Jacob and Archie kept chances to a minimum.

The second half continued in the much the same vain as Chelmsford created a number of chances and corners which the away team kept out. The home side continued to keep their goal intact with Harry dealing well with a number of crosses. The deadlock was finally broken with Lewis placing a free kick beyond the keeper and he quickly followed this up with a powerful strike from the edge of the area which flew into the corner. The game ended with James breaking through the defence and beating the keeper with a good finish.

 

2/2/2008:  Chelmsford City 5 - 0  FC Redwing

         

Chelmsford U7 Clarets continued there current good run winning their sixth successive game with a fine win over a hard working FC Redwing. The first half was evenly matched with both defences on top with Jacob and Archie limiting the home team’s chances. At the other end a few chances were squandered before Chelmsford eventually took the lead after a good run and finish from James.

In the second half Chelmsford took control and quickly added a second from James, the third followed after an excellent run and cross from Tyrese which was finished low into the bottom corner by Ellis. Chelmsford now began to dominate with Tyrese and Olly creating several chances which went unconverted, James finally completed his hat-trick with a lob from the edge of the area which went into the top corner. The scoring was completed by Lewis after a fine dribble and low finish. At the back the Chelmsford keeper Harry dominated his penalty box with some brave stops to ensure another clean sheet was achieved.
